Impact of dental imaging on pregnant women and recommendations for fetal radiation safety: A systematic review
Conclusion: Few dental radiology studies have been conducted to determine the safe radiation threshold for pregnant women. Additionally, the reviewed articles did not provide numbers of dental examinations, by type, corresponding to this dose. Dental imaging examinations of pregnant women should not be restricted if clinically indicated. Ultimately, practitioners must be able to justify the examination and should adhere to the " as low as diagnostically acceptable, being indication-oriented and patient-specific " (ALADAIP) principle of radioprotection. Utility of intraoral scanner imaging for dental plaque detection
Conclusion: When employing IOS with dental plaque staining, the impact of color was minimal, suggesting that the traditional red stain remains suitable for plaque detection. IOS images appeared relatively blurred and enlarged relative to the true state of the teeth, due to inferior sharpness compared to camera images. (Source: Dental Technology Blog)

Outcome and prognostic factors for partial and full pulpotomy in the management of spontaneous symptomatic pulpitis in carious mature permanent teeth: A randomized clinical trial
ConclusionFull pulpotomy has higher success rate than partial pulpotomy in the management of spontaneous symptomatic pulpitis. Hemostasis within 4 minutes in partial pulpotomy can be set as cutoff point beyond which further tissue removal is indicated. (Source: Dental Technology Blog)

Low-dose CBCT protocols in implant dentistry: A systematic review
ConclusionsThe use of low-dose CBCT protocols does not impact objective image quality assessment in any stage of implant therapy. Clinical studies are needed to indicate if the reported results can be extrapolated to improve patient care in relation to the responsible use of ionizing radiation. (Source: Dental Technology Blog)

Comparison of the outcome of intentional replantation in teeth with or without periodontal involvement: a retrospective study
ConclusionThe long-term prognosis of teeth with CPEL is significantly worse than those with simple apical periodontitis. The main reason of extraction was periodontal involvement. Regular periodontal maintenance and appropriate crown restoration may help to improve the prognosis for teeth with CPEL. (Source: Dental Technology Blog)
