Liquid ‐based endometrial cytology using SurePathTM is not inferior to suction endometrial tissue biopsy for detecting endometrial malignancies‐Midterm report of a multicenter study advocated by Japan Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists‐
ConclusionsThe clinical performance of liquid ‐based endometrial cytology for detecting endometrial malignancies was almost identical to the performance of suction endometrial tissue biopsy. This indicates that liquid‐based endometrial cytology was not inferior to suction endometrial tissue biopsy for the detection of endometrial cancer. This article describes the acquisition and management of serous effusion fluids, methods for preservation and transportation, different techniques of cytoprepara tion, application of immunocytochemistry, flow cytometry, and fluorescence in‐situ hybridization (FISH), as well as DNA extraction for polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and next generation sequencing (NGS). Abnormal Immunolabeling of SMAD4 in Cell Block Specimens Distinguish Malignant and Benign Pancreatic Cells
ConclusionsDecreased SMAD4 immunolabeling provided improved sensitivity as compared to negative SMAD4 immunolabeling; therefore, it is important to compare SMAD4 expression in a sample to its expression in normal cells.
