A mixed-methods study on the use of a nongynecological virtual microscopy platform in cytology education
CONCLUSIONS: The VM results were poorer compared with LM in our validation. Its use seems promising, but more focus is needed to improve the VM screening platform.PMID:38006327 | DOI:10.1093/ajcp/aqad156 (Source: American Journal of Clinical Pathology)

Diagnostic impact of RNA-based next-generation sequencing fusion panel for solid tumors: A single-institution experience
CONCLUSIONS: In summary, this study demonstrated the feasibility and utility of an RNA-based NGS fusion panel for a wide variety of solid tumors in the appropriate clinicopathologic context. These findings warrant further validation in larger studies involving multiple institutional patient cohorts.PMID:38001052 | DOI:10.1093/ajcp/aqad148 (Source: American Journal of Clinical Pathology)

Women physicians in academic pathology leadership
CONCLUSIONS: Women in academic pathology departments are well represented in residency and overall fellowship program leadership but are underrepresented in department chair and certain pathology subspecialty leadership positions. The disproportionate number of women in department chair positions is observed across medical specialties, highlighting the need for improved gender equity among high-level academic medicine positions.PMID:37961931 | DOI:10.1093/ajcp/aqad151 (Source: American Journal of Clinical Pathology)
